Visa Denied - Ski Season to Finish in Sun Valley, ID

I received the following disappointing notice from the Canton of Vaud, Service de la Population :

I contacted the Swiss Consulate in Atlanta and was advised there is no a appeal process; the Canton is not obligated to provide a reason for the refusal; and I need to depart before March 14th or I will be subject to fines and penalties for an 'overstay'. Perhaps my juvenile delinquency escapades from age 12 and 13 finally have caught up with me ...and all the Federal security clearances I have received over my career are meaningless. The refusal was totally unexpected and certainly disruptive.

Alas, I am starting the wind down process here in Lausanne and preparing to ship my skis and ski gear to Sun Valley to finish out this ski season. I am booked on a flight back to FL on March 12th and have booked a flight to Sun Valley for March 17th.

Perhaps the denial of my extended stay visa is providential. The Swiss government announced on Friday that all public assemblies/events of 1,000 or more are banned and more restrictions associated with COVID-19 are pending. Travel outside of Switzerland, while not restricted, is certainly questionable for the remainder of my time here in Lausanne.
